annanemone photoshoot.

It's been embarrassingly long since I've written anything here and yet again I'm determine to improve.
These photos are very long overdue as I am now properly finished with my MA (yay!) and will do the whole robe and graduation thing this coming Monday so it's soon to be official.

We took these photos in the photography studio at uni before our fashion show, which is what these clothes were designed for. It seems so long ago! I still can't get over how good my models were, these babes sure know how to strike a pose.
It was quite a task having to choose my favourite photos for the look book so I'm just going to whack a load on here for you to hopefully enjoy!

So without further ado, here are some of the pieces from the first annanemone collection presented by the beautiful Liv Tutton and Louise Seiler. Feel free to comment below! :)

Our Bristol adventures with Kim.

I can't believe my year in Birmingham is nearly over. The saddest part is that I have started saying goodbye to some of the amazing friends I have made here. So with a few of the remaining ones we decided to take one last trip together, which was to Bristol- one of my favourite cities in the UK. We were so lucky with the weather, it was an amazing day, despite having to wake up at 4:45 in the morning, it was so worth it!

Another important reason for choosing Bristol for our destination was visiting my friend Kim, who I hadn't seen since February = waay too long. She's the best.

Kim lives just outside of Bristol in the lovely village of Cleeve, where she has her own wool shop called Alternit Universe, which will be opening this Autumn. She is also the owner of Art Equals Happy, which you can find out more about here. Kim makes her own wool, values all things that are handmade and 100% natural and just tries to make people happy with her products.

She certainly makes me happy whenever I get to see her (and her amazing parents!), which is not nearly as much as I'd like to. It's so nice to know that I can come and spend some time with them whenever I get sick of big cities or if I just want to play some board games, do a little crafting and watch some Mighty Boosh.
So if you like wool, colours, Harry Potter and lovely people and ever find yourself in the Bristol area, definitely pay this place a visit, you will be on cloud nine.

wallpaper & sewing silliness.

I can now officially wallpaper things! My friend Sophie helped me redo the wallpaper I had installed in the Warehouse Care back in April (which you can see here), only then it was only stuck on temporarily and I messed it up slightly so the pattern didn't quite connect. But now it's properly permanently installed, we even managed a corner and a switch, I'm really happy with the result! We even made a silly video and had a blast. Can't believe she's going back to France, noo!
Have a peek:

Other than that, I've been sewing little pouches from my hand screen printed fabrics! A bit unfortunate that I shipped off my sewing machine back to Prague last year, great timing. Now I have to annoy my poor friend Fika- she has a domestic one in her room, it's much easier to use than the industrial ones we have at uni! Plus it's a bit intimidating in the midst of all the super experienced fashion students who look at you weird when you don't know how to put the bobbin in. Sawwry gawwd! A few months ago I didn't even know what a bobbin was so I'm quite happy with myself.
So it's fun times in Fika's room with Friends intead. Not too shabby! I've managed to hurt my finger already AND break her needle but she's still putting up with me!
You can check out her products and designs here, they're really great.

If you have any suggestions for pattern combinations or anything else you'd like to see me make, do share them! Bed time now. Oh! I've also upgraded my logo but I will share that with you next time!

Fashion Show preparations.

..aand we're back. I got out of blogging mode for a little bit there but shall be better from now on. I hope everyone's had a good month! England seems to finally be realizing it's almost summer so that's good.
I just spent a nice couple of days in London, caught up with some great friends, got locked in Holland Park, fed peacocks, made the mistake of walking into Primark because I needed some cheap tights, which resulted in me wanting to kill everyone there and had a meeting about illustrating my friend Filip's book of short stories. All very exciting stuff. Spring: so far so good. Now I'm listening to Two Door Cinema Club and they've inspired me to write a little post because of their lyric 'it's only late you have time'. Better late than never!

Our MA Fashion Show is happening on July 17th so if you're anywhere near Birmingham you must come! Here's the Facebook event and the poster that my friend Fika designed:

It's all very fun getting it ready, we got some pretty great sponsors too so I will definitely be buying some raffle tickets (that will all go to Cancer Research UK) and hoping to win some exciting prize. Apart from that, I'll be the super red girl on stage after the show probably wearing something colourful. Come say hello!

I dropped off my fabrics (see below) at a local seamstress the other day, what a sweet lady. Because I haven't fully mastered the act of pattern cutting and sewing yet, she will make the clothes for the show for me. So now I just wait, eeek!

All the garments will be for sale at the show and I will also be making lots of additional little things with my designs on them- wrapping paper, notebooks, purses, jewellery, brooches.. I will also be setting up a proper website where you'll be able to buy things, as most of you won't be able to make the show I presume.

I've been spending lots of time in the printmaking studio at uni (as seen in this post) - such a lovely atmosphere (much better than the screen printing studio unfortunately- the Snape of our uni works there)- classical music and lovely people, you just forget all about the outside world. Here's their Instagram page- I was lucky enough to make it there, woo! Be sure to follow them, people do create some pretty great things in that studio.
