uni- behind the scenes.

It's our big deadline tomorrow, which means I've spent most of my time at uni and really cannot wait for a break away from the place. No more grumpy technicians who answer 'guess' to 'how are you' and people stealing your masking tape in the screen printing studio!

Here are a few photos from the last few days, all from uni- surprise surprise. Can't wait to share some from a short trip to Edinburgh this week and then to Prague for Easter. About time!

Almost ready for hand-in!
Patterns I bought for the fashion show.
Printmaking studio- I'm honoured to have my cabbage on the wall!
Printmaking studio fancy letterpress machines.
Screenprinting studio- my own blueberry trousers.
First final piece for the fashion show- blueberry shirt!
Uni on the left- crazy evening light on the right.
Could we have sunshine tomorrow after a week of clouds? Yes please!

screen printing therapy

It hasn't been such a happy time recently. Practical hands on work usually helps me get my mind off things so screen printing was much needed. Sometimes it's best to not think and just do. And fun things can come out of it!
I will hopefully use some of these for illustrations my friend Filip's short stories (some of them are about sea monsters and plants, how perfect!), I can't wait to see it all come together. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these little experiments. I was told I needed to widen my colour palette so I've been trying to push myself- green, blue and yellow always seem to find their way in there somewhere though..

post accident post

Hey hey! I hope everyone's had a good Christmas and started the new year positively!

It's been over a month since my last post which I hope won't happen again but I have a pretty good reason for it, unfortunately. I got hit by a car on my bike on a big roundabout but luckily (knock on wood) I 'only' broke my elbow. There were 3 fragments though so I now have some wires in to hold it all together so it'll take some time to get back to normal, which is annoying but I keep telling myself it could have been much worse!

Luckily it's my right arm and I'm left-handed so I can still draw and eat so phew! Don't know how long it will take till I can get back to screen printing but we'll see how the physical therapists work their magic. Quite a funny story, I was in the screen printing room in November and some photographer came to take some pictures for the new website and here you go haha:

I'll be back in the UK next week and will have to do an exam I was supposed to have a day after the accident (so when I was lying on the road I was trying to get up and go to uni to finish getting ready for it) so after that I hope I'll get back into work fast and will make sure to share some of it!

In the meantime, I need to get these wires moving. Talk soon!
